Singapore Queenstown Library Community PracticeGroup work
03/2025
After completing the on-site research on southern isands of Singapore, our team posted the research results on the community wall of Queenstown Library.
This event aimed to introduce these islands, which are not far from the residents but may be little known to the residents. Through colorful display boards and interactive voting, it attracted the residents to learn about the natural and cultural background of the islands and collected their understanding and development visions of these islands.
We hope to listen to the voices of the community residents and incorporate their ideas and suggestions into the subsequent planning and design.
During the project's progress, we also collaborated with Queenstown Library to hold a Parent-Child Workshop.
Through engaging and fun sharing sessions, the event introduced the knowledge about the southern islands of Singapore to the families and children who visited the library. It also organized a picture collage creation activity with the theme of "My Island in My Mind", allowing the children to personally assemble their imagined marine world and mysterious islands.
Through these creative and imaginative works full of childlike charm and imagination, we not only witnessed the children's pure understanding of the ocean, but also gained a fresh perspective of inspiration. This further prompted us to reflect on and enrich the design and expression of our project.
After the project was completed, the works of each member of the group were displayed in Queenstown Library for public viewing.
