The southern islands of Singapore have abundant marine resources. However, long-term industrial development and busy shipping have greatly affected the living environment of marine lives in this area.
This design focuses on three marine species: coral, dugong and green turtle. Based on understanding their living habits, the design makes full use of the existing resources to build southern islands national marine park.
Seagrass is the common living environment relied upon by these three marine lives, so this design takes seagrass proliferation as the starting point.
Through the 'seagrass +' strategy combined with mangrove cultivation, coral breakwater and nesting sand beach, it creates a marine environment suitable for the living of these marine lives.
